Additionally, NPR headquarters is in Washington, D.C. so correspondents really should be aware of the Memorial as well.

In the past, I have heard an NPR broadcast featuring missing or incorrect information so I contacted NPR by email and got a quick response followed by an on-the-air correction.

Have you or the Museum outreached to NPR or Atlantic Magazine and Mr Coats to engage them on this topic and discuss a correction to the NPR interview? Perhaps NPR would do an entire segment featuring Museum staff in correction to what was stated during the Coats interview.

Writing from BaltimoreAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4263361136306958207.post-62432563345255473142011-12-21T12:37:54.675-05:002011-12-21T12:37:54.675-05:00"...On the campus of Howard in the 1990s, Coa..."...On the campus of Howard in the 1990s, Coates was known to boast that his Afro-centric education began at home long before he entered Howard. With this Afro-centric advantage, Coates rather condescendingly made fun of his fellow students who were awakened to Afro-centricity at Howard...."

This invective undermines your very important point. But your post and Mr. Coates' response to it have got me interested in visiting the museum.Larkspurnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4263361136306958207.post-51103131031090461102011-12-21T08:11:48.856-05:002011-12-21T08:11:48.856-05:00Well said, well said.Well said, well said.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4263361136306958207.post-797465647942777012011-12-20T19:22:25.978-05:002011-12-20T19:22:25.978-05:00Hello Hari,
